Federated4Health is a private Limited company which was set up in May 2016. Working in collaboration with North East, Central, West and South East Haringey, Federated4Health has come together to work with GP Practices throughout Haringey and deliver an array of primary care services . As the NHS landscape continues to change and evolve, so has the way in which primary care services are being delivered. Throughout the country many GP practices have come together to form federations and thereby being able to deliver primary care services on a larger scale.

Haringey as a borough is very diverse and also has a growing population. It s projected that by 2021 the population will have reached 286,700. This in turn presents many challenges to local GP surgeries. Some of these challenges include rising levels of obesity and diabetes. In order to meet such a challenge Federated4Health has been involved in delivering an extended primary care access service through four hubs. The purpose of delivering such a service is to offer patients appointments outside of normal GP operating hours. Working with Haringey CCG it has been established for quite some time that as patient demographics have changed so has the demand placed on GP’s, in addition to the rising waiting times on A/E services. It is envisaged that in the future more services will be delivered within a primary care setting. Most recently there has been researched carried out which has suggested that acute care can be provided alongside primary care. From the perspective of a patient it does make sense if more services can be provided closer to where a patient resides.
